: I'm glad to hear the insurance company decided to cover the expenses!
: Most firms have "open enrollment" for new hirees. I also had a preexisting
: condition (asthma) when I was hired by my current employer in '89. If
: there is anything good at all I can say about my insurance (now manaaged
: care) provider (let alone ANY managed care/medical insurance), at least
: I was accepted without a problem. Before I go, tell your husband to
: avoid any firm (if he can I know sometimes you have to take what you can
: find) that has a contract with KAISER PERMANENTE!!! They are a bunch of
: crooked bastards!!! You probably are aware of this if you regularly
: watch the news. People have DIED because of their shitty, negligent
: "care".

To clarify, our insurance never disputed covering my daughters care, I don't feel that they should have to --McD's should!!!! As a "business invitee" customers are intitled to be protected in the event of accident on the premesis! I actually have been very pleased with how our insurance covered everything. Interesting note though, $18,000 in bills from the hospital and the insurance company was able to "adjust" $14,000 off the bill and only pay $4000. I don't have to pay the $14,000 the hospital must take it as a loss per their contract with the carrier--little wonder health care is so messed up!!!My rates will probably go up as a result of their "big payout" in this matter anyway!!!
