Just like American Motors lost its struggle in the end to exist with GM, Ford, and Chrysler, Woolworth's just wasn't able to compete with Sears, Penny's, and Dillard's. AMC was also technically archaic.
With a few adjustments here and there, I think my idea mixed with part of Mike Sprout's should get McDonald's on the comeback trail. Don't be so quick to write 'em off.
