  2.               Brett Hull Hockey '95 Demo

  4. Release Date  :  Winter '95

  6. This is a playable demo of Brett Hull Hockey '95.  The user will control
  7. St. Louis and the computer will be New York.  The game is played in 3 two 
  8. minute periods and is preset with penalties,  line changes and offside calls
  9. on.
  10.  
  11.                - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - 
  12.  
  13. To play the "Brett Hull Hockey '95" demo you must have:
  14. *  IBM + 100% compatible.
  15. *  486-20Mhz.(It will run on 386-33 but very slow)
  16. *  4 MB RAM.(580 free lower and 2 meg of EMS)
  17. *  DOS 5.0 and above.
  18. *  Hard Drive with 4 MB free. 
  19. *  VESA SVGA (640 X 480).
  20. *  Keyboard.
  21. *  Soundblaster or 100% compatible.
  22.  
  23. For optimum gameplay, we suggest you have:
  24. *  486-50Mhz with Local Bus Video Card.
  25. *  8 MB RAM.
  26. *  Sound Blaster or 100% Compatible sound card.
  27. *  Joystick.
  28.  
  29. NOTE: "Brett Hull Hockey '95" does not run in Windows.
  30. NOTE:  Because the game has not been optomized yet,  you may notice
  31.        lapses in between periods of 15-20 seconds.

  33.    Below is a list of features of the full Brett Hull Hockey '95 to be
  34.    released winter '95.

  36. *  Brett Hull and 600 NHLPA greats on the ice.

  38. *  Adjust team attributes like skating ability,  shot accuracy,  strength,
  39.    and aggressiveness.
  40.  
  41. *  Watch Jumbo-tron for up-to-the-minute game info and crowd pumping grapics.
  42.  
  43. *  The computer selects 3 star players after each game.
  44.  
  45. *  Keep track of saves,  passing percentages, checks,  penalties,  and more..
  46.  
  47. *  Hear Emmy Award winning Sportscaster Al Michaels call the play-by-play.
  48.  
  49. *  And much,  much more....

  51. Controls
  52.   This Demo version defaults to joystick (recommended) if you have 
  53.   one connected, otherwise it will use the numeric keypad on your keyboard 
  54.   for directional controls.
  55.  
  56. Joystick
  57.    Button A of joystick is for passing and selecting nearest player 
  58.    near the puck.
  59.  
  60.    Button B of joystick is for wristshots and poke checks.
  61.  
  62.    Button A and B is for Slapshots and Body checks.
  63.  
  64. Keyboard
  65.    The period/greater than key is same as Button A of joystick
  66.    question mark/backslash key is same as Button B of Joystick
  67.    Right shift key is same as pressing A & B together
  68.  
  69. Other useful keys
  70.    ALT 1-5 changes speed of game (recommend ALT-5 for 486 50 mhz 
  71.                   or faster)
  72.    F1-F4 changes lines
  73.    ALT-C recalibrates the joystick (if one if connected)
  74.    F12 exits to dos

  80. If Brett Hull Hockey gives an "Out of memory message" or you are
  81. experiencing freezes in the game you will need to boot your system "Clean."  
  82. Below please find instructions on how to "Boot Clean."

  85. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 5.0
  86.  
  87. You will need a floppy disk that will fit into your A: drive; this procedure 
  88. will only work in drive A.  Insert the floppy disk into your A: drive and 
  89. type "FORMAT A:/S". This will erase all data on the diskette so use one that 
  90. is new or no longer needed.
  91.  
  92. When the disk has finished formatting change to your A: drive.  Type the 
  93. following lines at the A prompt:
  94.  
  95.     COPY CON CONFIG.SYS <Enter>
  96.  
  97.     DOS=HIGH <Enter>
  98.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS <Enter>
  99.  
  100. Press F6 <Enter>. You should see the message "1 file(s) copied." If the 
  101. message does not appear please follow these instructions again.  
  102.  
  103. VERY IMPORTANT!!!  ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE A: DRIVE!
  104.  
  105. Next type these lines at the A: prompt:
  106.  
  107.     COPY CON AUTOEXEC.BAT
  108.  
  109.     PROMPT $P$G <Enter>
  110.     * All sound card lines.  You can find these command lines in your 
  111.      autoexec.bat on the c: drive.  They often look similar to this:
  112.     "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6"
  113.     "SET SOUND=C:\SB16"
  114.     "C:\SB16\SB16SET /M:220 /VOC:220 /CD:220 /MIDI:220 /LINE:220 /TREBLE:0"
  115.     "C:\SB16\SBCONFIG.EXE /S"
  116.     Please note this is how these lines MAY look. If you have a Pro Audio Spectrum 16 
  117.     or other sound card these lines will be different.

  120. Press F6 <Enter>. You should see the message "1 file(s) copied."  If the 
  121. message does not appear please follow these instructions again.

  123. REMEMBER, ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE A: DRIVE!

  125. You have just created a clean boot disk.  In order for the disk to take
  126. effect you must reboot your computer with this disk in the A: drive.
  127.  
  128. Press the <Ctrl><Alt><Delete> keys together to reboot.
  129.  
  130. At the A:> prompt, type C: and press <Enter>
  131.  
  132. To start "Brett Hull Hockey" type CD\BHDEM <Enter>
  133.  
  134. Type DEMO and press <Enter>

  138. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 6.0 
  139.  
  140. Please follow the instructions for Booting Clean using DOS 5.0
  141.  
  142. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 6.2X
  143.  
  144.      Reboot your computer.
  145.  
  146.      When you see the message "STARTING MS-DOS" hit the <F8> key at the top 
  147.      of your keyboard.
  148.  
  149.      You will see the message "DOS WILL PROMPT YOU CONFIRM EACH CONFIG.SYS
  150.      COMMAND."  Say yes to only the following:
  151.  
  152.      DOS=HIGH
  153.      DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  154.  
  155.      If you are using a Sound Blaster compatible card you must also say yes 
  156.      to the Sound Card Driver line.  
  157.      
  158.      Say no to the rest of your lines until you are asked to process your 
  159.      AUTOEXEC.BAT.  Say yes to this line.  
  160.      
  161.     * Say yes to all Sound Card lines. They often look similar to this:
  162.     "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6"
  163.     "SET SOUND=C:\SB16"
