'Canadian Borderline' is full of wondrous surprises. This virtuoso brings the dobro (pictured on the cover) into the drawing room and the concert hall. The dobro is no longer just an instrument for country backup but a front-and-solo instrument in it's own right. This CD is an appealing grab bag of blues, Celtic memories and powerhouse picking. An outstanding instrumental piece is 'Garry Owen/Banish Misfortune', a duet between Doug Cox and Victoria Symphony bassist Alex Olson.
