djolΦ is a stunning melding of eastern rhythms with western jazz. The group's influences come from West Africa, North India, Brazil and North America. Using traditional melodies on the West African kora and ancient rhythm cycles on the North Indian tabla, djolΦ creates a timeless sound interwoven with jazz influences. Some of the unique sounds are created by the use of various flutes, shakers and guitars as well as keyboards, a saxophone, wine bottle, tamboura and sruti box.
