Welcome to the Re-issue of Lunchtime
Two. Firstly - Why? Well basically the
software was showing it's age, it wouldn't
run on the RISC PC nor would it run from Hard
Disc or Archive as do later issues. In fact
I am releasing all five issues updated since
none work properly with the RISC PC.
Although the magazines now operate on
a RISC PC, they appear in letter box mode
bacause LT is in mode 12 a T.V. resolution
mode. There are several ways of fixing
this:-
1) Fiddle with the monitor controls.
2) Get a mode definition file from
somewhere (most PD sources will fix you up)
for a full screen mode 12.
3) Get "Game On" from the ARM Club
(£10), it's pretty much indispensible anyway
since it allows a lot of the older games to
run.
What's new? Well, the software has
totally changed as I have been developing it
since LT1. I've kept the contents of the
magazine in the origional form, However I
have spell checked it! The music has been
changed to the same tracks as are on the
Amiga version. Why didn't I do that in the
first place? Well, because they didn't
convert properly, but now the software that
we use is much improved so they can be
converted. The old music from issue two is
now used with issue one ehich origionaly had
no music. Finally a simple desktop frontend
has been added (as in issue 5). As I
mentioned above, it will now run from any
filing system as Rice OS apps are supposed to
and is RISC PC compatible.
For those of you who have not seen LT
before here is a list of available issues:
LT1 Digital Dog Edition.
LT2 Hamster on the Prowl.
LT3 Edward's Revenge.
LT4 Yul Brynner's Memorial Toolshed.
LT5 Wardrobe Racing For Forigners.
To obtain an issue send a disc and a
suitable SAE to the address in the help file.
Amiga versions are also available so be sure
to mention which computer you have.
See the !Help file for instructions.
Look out for Issue 6.
Andy.
