If you look at the various 'scenes' you'll find the pro-active people, the ones who DO things they dream about, seem to network. All the best hip hop homie dj's hang together .. little pockets of artists hang together .. all 'cliques' or 'scenes' .. the people who isolate themselves to a certain degree because they want to focus on something they identify with .. something they can relate to and something that interests them .. there are followers in all of these scenes but there are the leaders. the people who create the scene. .. I have alot more respect for gangs in LA and new york now. They are a close knit community that has reclaimed some of their land
