  4. To the best of our knowledge  this magazine was circulated 100% virus
  5. free. However, if you have copied  this  off a friend, or received it
  6. from a PD library make  sure  you  keep  the  disks write protected -
  7. there is no need for any of the software to write to the disks. Write
  8. protect the disk BEFORE you first boot it to be safe.

  10. Since this issue sees The Final  Frontier  making  use of a brand new
  11. menu system and disk structure,  we  felt  that it was worth updating
  12. this information.
  13.  
  14. All of the four disks should be free of boot-block viruses. Please do
  15. not install a new bootblock on the disk (especially do NOT do this if
  16. you have Kickstart 2 or  3  -  the  bootblocks  won't work with older
  17. Amigas!), just send the disk back. This offer is open to ALL readers,
  18. whether you bought the mag from  us  or  not. However, we do ask that
  19. you tell us where  you got  the  disk  from and whether the bootblock
  20. was missing since you  first got  it.  Please  note that on the first
  21. two issues, the custom  bootblock will  NOT  appear on the Amiga 500+
  22. or other Amigas fitted  with  Kickstart  2.04  or  higher if you have
  23. extra memory fitted.

  25. Also, unlike our first Issue, there  IS  an  "L" directory on all the
  26. disks and it contains  a  number  of  files  essential for the smooth
  27. operation of the menu system  including  the Ram-Handler  and a Disk-
  28. Validator file. As well as this, before we despatched the disks, they
  29. were all tested for file,  bootblock, and disk validator viruses with
  30. the LATEST version of John   Veldhuis's  Virus Checker, so the system
  31. should be clear.

  33. If you bought this mag from a  PD  library and found that a virus was
  34. on it, let us know  so  we  can  try  and  stop other readers getting
  35. unwanted virus problems. However,  most  good  PD Libraries make sure
  36. that their collections are free of all known viruses.

  38. We will re-check our own master copy of  the disk and we will get the
  39. library in question to  check  their  copy  of  the  mag, and if they
  40. discover a virus, to make sure it is removed immediately.
