With the availability of NEXTSTEP for Intel processors there was a need for a Multi-Binary version of NGService. Especially since there is currently no MAB version of NewsGrazer available.\
\b Because NeXT wants to support its developers, there will not be an Intel version of NewsGrazer available from NeXT. All in all, this is probably a good thing. (Believe me, I didn't think so at first!)\

\b Later this year there will be a new newsreader from Millennium Software that will fill the NEXTSTEP newsreader void. Contact info@millennium.com for more info.\

In compiling a FAT version, I found that more than a few things were out of date.... The dragging protocols specifically, and then there were a few things that had always bothered me...\
Some features worked about the same as NewsGrazer, even if they shouldn't. Apps that are Name.app look like directories instead of apps, and there can be some dangers in double clicking on an executable without knowing that it is executable.\
This version displays proper icons, warns you if you are about to launch an executable, and uses the nifty new Workspace protocols for getting file information and icons.\

Also for the first time I'm actually going to upload the source to the archives as well. In the past I had only authorized its distribution on the NEXTSTEP Educational CD that NeXT put out last year. It did turn up on other CDs, and I would have liked to have been told ahead of time.\

The one question I always get is how do I use this! Its pretty simple, select the whole NewsGrazer posting in whatever application you want, Edit.app or a Terminal window. Then pick the NGService->Read from the services menu.\

There are alot of NeXT users who flat out don't use NewsGrazer, for whatever reason. Now they can enjoy RichPosts with the rest of us!\
NGService provides full compatiblity with NewsGrazer. You can see the fonts, pictures, sounds and files, and you can drag them into your favourite applications, or into the Workspace.\
If you can select the text in the application and get it onto the pasteboard, you can use NGService!\
