  8.       DES EDITOR allows you to edit your sensitive documents with
  9.       full security by keeping the edited file in the U.S.
  10.       Government Data Encryption Standard (DES) format.  The edited
  11.       information is completely unreadable to anyone who does not
  12.       have your password(s).

  14.       Main features include:
  15.         File editing with transparent DES encryption, Multi-file
  16.         editing; mouse support; undo; clipboard cut, copy and paste;
  17.         search and replace; automatic DES to ASCII and ASCII to DES
  18.         file conversion.

  20.       Working with DES Editor is simple, and similar to other text
  21.       editors.  To edit a document, simply type:

  23.               E <password>.
  24.  
  25.       DES EDITOR functions as a "normal" text editor with the
  26.       following differences:
  27.  
  28.       1.  To edit files you need to choose an eight character
  29.           password.  DES EDITOR will use this password in the
  30.           Encrypt/Decrypt operation.

  32.       2.  After editing a new file with a password, you will need to
  33.           use exactly the same password if you want to edit this
  34.           file again.  (But whenever needed, you can convert any DES
  35.           EDITOR file to an ASCII format, and any ASCII file to DES
  36.           EDITOR format)

  38.       3.  The Encrypt/Decrypt operations are done automatically, and
  39.           are transparent to the user.

  42.       AND MOST IMPORTANT ...

  44.       4. Everything you edit with the DES EDITOR is available for
  45.          you eyes only!  No one else will be able to read the edited
  46.          information.
