SpellGuard BETA
-------------------
This is a beta of SpellGuard, an interactive spell checker.
SpellGuard checks your spelling as you type it. It works in
the PM session,OS/2 Windows and DOS Windows.
Very useful when you don't have a word processor and
especially while on-line.

Beta Notes:
-----------
BUGS - Not yet recognizing the insert key state correctly
- Spell engine doesn't always stop checking when you are
in the About,Match or Options dialog
- Spellguard does not work if started from a TVFS v2.08 drive
under WARP
- Sometimes SpellGuard will not turn on the spell engine
when started from the STARTUP folder. Selecting the
Spell Checker On check box a couple of times will start
the spell checking.
- No install procedure
I am basically looking for user interface suggestions. for
After using this a few days come back and read these ideas:
- Instead of float window to top until next keystroke, float
for a user defined number of seconds.
- Have a window the size of a title bar always floating on
top of all windows
- Reset the word being spelled after a user defined timeout
(this may be useful while on-line reading threads of messages)
Things that need to be done:
- Online help
- install procedure
- Dictionary browser and maintenance program
- Registration dialog
- Other spell checking? (let me know which are important to you)
- files via Drag and drop
- files via File Open dialog
- spell check the clipboard
- support Windows programs
- Hotkey support - pause, set focus, return focus and match?
- History of misspelled words?
- History of words spelled correctly?
- REXX interface?
- External C Interface?
Possible future enhancements (beyond version 1.0)
- From Match dialog - not just copy to keyboard but automatic
replacement of the misspelled word
- Automatic replacement of commonly misspelled words (replace
'teh' with 'the',sucess with success, etc from a user defined
list) as you type it
- Shrink dictionary size?
