  1.                       Welcome to NIGHTNet (tm)

  4.    What is NIGHTNet you ask? NIGHTNet is an International
  5. E-Mail Network that has been around since November 1993. We are 
  6. here for one reason - to have a network where people from all over
  7. the country can come, meet new people and have fun.
  8.    Too many people have forgotten that BBS's started as a place to
  9. communicate with others. We would like to see BBS's get back to 
  10. being a neighborly meeting place.

  12.     Joining NIGHTNet is easy, there are no fees (we understand
  13. sysops put enough money into running their boards) just an easy
  14. information form to fill out. There are a few ways to join NIGHTNet.
  15. They are listed below.

  17. 1.) Fill out the application form and upload it in a comment to the 
  18. sysop on the host system Night Shift in Cleveland, Ohio (1200-14,400)
  19. (216) 941-9420, or (216) 941-9921.
  20.  
  21. 2.) Fill out the application form and upload it in a comment to the 
  22. sysop on the HUB you are going to do your mail runs through.
  23. The Hub you upload the application to will either transfer the 
  24. application to the host system through the net or request that you  
  25. mail a hard copy to the host system at the address listed below.
  26.        
  27. 3.) Once you are accepted to NIGHTNet, and on-line, you will need to
  28. leave a message to Michael Starcher in the Net Info Forum. This
  29. message should include all of the info on your BBS, so that we can
  30. include you in the NIGHTNet Node List.

  33.     We don't believe in "rules". We do ask all systems to follow
  34. a few guidelines but these are just a courtesy. Please see the file
  35. "RULES.TXT" for complete information on these.

  37.     We also believe in QUALITY forums, not QUANTITY. No reason
  38. to carry 200 forums that sit and get no traffic. We have several
  39. forums at this time and are always interested in starting new forums
  40. as suggested by node sysops and the users alike.

  42.         We have also put together a "goodies" packet to help get 
  43. started with NIGHTNet. In this file you will find some script files
  44. for different communication programs, InterBBS info, and some different
  45. config files for different BBS programs. The name of this file is
  46. "NNETGOOD.ZIP". This file is included in the Net Info Packet.

  48.         Night Shift (the host system) is also acting as a regional
  49. hub for Sunrise Door's INTERBBS. More info on this is in the 
  50. "NNETGOOD.ZIP" file.

  52.     I would like to thank you for taking the time to download
  53. this information pack and extend a welcome to you to call the host
  54. system, download a .QWK packet and see for yourself what NIGHTNet is
  55. all about. To do this is easy, call any of the host system numbers
  56. listed below, type "Mainmail" at the main menu prompt and download a
  57. packet. All NIGHTNet forums will automatically be selected for you,
  58. no need to go through the selection process of forums as all NIGHTNet
  59. forums are automatically set up for new callers.
