  2.                             NIGHTNet Guidelines
  3.                             -------------------

  5.  It is not the purpose of NIGHTNet to have a lot of "RULES". We are
  6. a friendly network and will continue to be. Below are the "Guidelines"
  7. that are only common courtesy. 
  8.  
  9. 1.)  The following tagline should be set for each node so that all 
  10.      messages will have the originating BBS identified:

  12.      NIGHTNet (tm) * BBS Name * City, St * (123) 456-7890
  13.  
  14. 2.)  Abusive or offensive language, name calling, personal attacks can
  15.      not be tolerated in NIGHTNet.

  17. 3.)  Aliases are not allowed in ANY net forums. 
  18.  
  19. 4.)  To keep NIGHTNet a friendly place we give net access to systems
  20.      where you must log onto the board under your real name only. We do
  21.      not allow "handle" only type boards in the net. 
  22.  
  23. 5.)  The following forums are REQUIRED by all nodes: Nightnet Cafe,
  24.      Administration and Net Info.
  25.  
  26. Nightnet Cafe is the "Chit Chat" type forum and all nodes are
  27. encourged to promote this forum as much as possible. Administration
  28. is a private forum for node sysops to discuss network business. This
  29. forum should be set as private for the node sysop only. Net Info is
  30. open to ALL and is the place for users and Hosts to contact network
  31. management with problems, suggestions and advice.

  33. 6.)  Mail runs should be made daily. This will allow netmail to stay 
  34.      fresh and get messages across the country in a timely manner.

  36. 7.)  NIGHTNet is available to all "full time" BBS's. (Running 24 hrs)

  39.                                 FORUM HOSTS
  40.                                 -----------

  42.      Any caller that is interested in Hosting a forum should leave
  43. a private message to Carol Swimmer (Network Moderator) in the 
  44. Net Info forum. 
  45.      The responsibilities of a forum host are to welcome new members
  46. and to try to keep the messages on topic as well as trying to keep
  47. the messages active when traffic slows down.
  48.      If a forum host has a problem with a user in their forum that 
  49. a friendly message won't resolve, a private message to Carol Swimmer
  50. should be left in the Net Info Forum.
