AB Nurse educators are faced with a variety of complex issues associated
with the comprehensive care of the AIDS patient. They need to prepare
their students for the challenge AIDS brings to all areas of nursing
practice. The author presents a review of the literature related to
perceived attitudes, fears, and professional issues of healthcare
professionals in general, and nursing students specifically. An
examination of AIDS-related curricula reveals the need for a
comprehensive plan to integrate AIDS content into baccalaureate nursing
programs.
