  4. All commands listed refer to the JNOS / NOS.EXE program
  5. as distributed by Johan. K. Reinalda, WG7J/PA3DIS.
  6.  
  7. This describes JNOS v1.10
  8.  
  9. For a full description of a command, use the 'HELP' command.
  10. To get the version of the system you're using, type the 'I' command.
  11.  
  12. NOTE: not all commands might be available in each system. This depends
  13. on the options compiled into the program, as well as on the options the
  14. sysop makes available to users.
  15.  
  16. <cr>            Hitting a return causes the next message (if any) to be read
  17.  
  18. ?               Give short list of all commands
  19.  
  20. A               Give list of message areas without descriptions
  21. AF              Give the areas list with descriptions (if set)
  22. AN              Show the areas that have new mail since you last logged off
  23. A name          Change to area 'name'
  24.  
  25. ALI             Shows command 'aliases' as set by the sysop. These are short
  26.                 ways of typing long commands.
  27.  
  28. B               Bye (ie. disconnect)
  29.  
  30. C node          Netrom connection, if permitted and available
  31. C port call     AX.25 connection, if permitted
  32.  
  33. CA              Connect to callbook server (if available)
  34.  
  35. CONV [chan]     Convers bridge (like Dx-CLUSTER), if available
  36.                 Default is channel 0, or [chan] (if given).

  38. D filename      Download textfile 'filename'
  39. DU              Download a uuencoded file (for binary files)
  40. DX              Download with xmodem (for tip connects)
  41.  
  42. E               Show the escape character
  43. E char          Set the escape character to 'char' (one character!)
  44.  
  45. F               Finger users on this system or remote tcp systems
  46.                 'F conf' will show conference bridge users.
  47.                 'F iheard' will show the ip-heard list .
  48.                 For local users, this will now show when the user was last
  49.                 logged in to the system. Eg 'F wg7j'
  50.                 For remote tcp systems 'F @host' shows all users on 'host'
  51.                 or 'F user@host' shows 'user' on system 'host'

  54. H x             Get help on command x
  55.  
  56. I               Info on system . Shows a message set by the sysop
  57.  
  58. IH              IHeard, shows recently heard tcp/ip stations.
  59.  
  60. IP              IProute, shows the tcp/ip routes the system maintains
  61.  
  62. J               Just heard, on all ports
  63. J port          Just heard on 'port'
  64.  
  65. K n n           Kill message # n (one or more numbers or ranges is accepted)
  66. KM              Kill Mine, kills all read messages
  67. KU              Un-kills messages previously marked to be killed
  68.  
  69. L               List new messages
  70. LA              List ALL messages in current area
  71. LB              List messages with message type B (bulletins)
  72. LM              List mine, lists new messages
  73. LL n            List last n messages
  74. LT              List message with message type T (traffic)
  75. LS xyz          List messages with string 'xyz' in subject
  76. L> xyz          List only messages with string 'xyz' in the To: field
  77. L< xyz          List only messages with string 'xyz' in the From: field

  79. M               Shows current mailbox users
  80. MC name         Copy the current message to area/path 'name' (remote SYSOP only)
  81. MC x [y,z] name Copy messages x,y and z in current area to area/path 'name'
  82. ML              Shows all past users since system startup
  83. ML n            Shows the n past users since startup
  84. ML call         Shows when 'call' logged on last
  85. MM name         Move the current message to area/path 'name' (remote SYSOP only)
  86. MM x [y,z] name Move messages x,y and z in current area to area/path 'name'
  87. MS              Show message and system status
  88.  
  89. N               Alphabetical listing of known netrom nodes (if available)
  90. NR              Shows all netrom neighbour nodes
  91. N nodename/call Shows information about the route to the node
  92. N *             Shows infomation about all nodes (Long!)
  93.  
  94. O               Chat with operator (if system is attended)
  95.  
  96. P               Give a list of the ax.25 ports of the system (and description,
  97.                 if set by sysop)
  98.  
  99. PI host         Ping a tcp/ip host (ie. check if it is 'alive').
  100.                 This shows the round-trip-time to the system.
  101.  
  102. R n             Read message n (a list of numbers or ranges is accepted)
  103. RH n            Read with headers (same as V command)
  104. RM              Read Mine, reads all unread messages
  105.  
  106. REG             Register as a user on this bbs
  107.  
  108. S               Send message (defaults to private)
  109. SB              Send bulletin (be carefull!)
  110. SC              Send with Carbon Copy to others
  111. SF              Forward current message to someone else
  112. SF n            Forward message number n to someone else
  113. SP              Send private message
  114. ST              Send traffic message
  115. SR              Send a reply to the current message
  116. SR n            Send a reply to message number n
  117.  
  118. T host [port]   Telnet to 'host' (if permitted) (the optional port specifies
  119.                 a tcp port if other then the telnet port)
  120.  
  121. U file          Upload a textfile
  122. UX file         Upload a textfile with xmodem (for Tip users)
  123.  
  124. V n             Verbose read of message n (a list or range is accepted)
  125. VM              Verbose read of all unread messages
  126.  
  127. W               What files are in the current directory
  128. W path          Listing of the directory 'path'. Wildcards ie.*, are accepted
  129.  
  130. X               Toggle Expert status
  131. XA              Toggle current area-indication in prompt
  132. XM              Show number of lines before more-prompt
  133. XM n            Set more-prompt to n lines
  134. XN              Toggle the 'Netrom look-alike' prompt on/off
  135. XP              Toggle LINEMODE-style prompting for input (telnet/tip users)
  136. XR              Show if a 'reply-to: your-email-address' is added when sending
  137.                 mail. You need to have set an email address with 'REG'
  138. XR on|off       Sets the 'reply-to' state to on or off

  140. Z file          Zap (delete) a file (if permitted)
