RIPDOOR 2.0 09/07/1994
=============================================================================
NOTICE: THE CONFIGURATION FILE HAS CHANGED AGAIN!
The configuration file has changed completely! If you have any
versions of this program earlier than version 2.0, you need to
rewrite your .CFG file. Please see the docs before you install
it.
2.0 09/07/1994
a) The sysop may now offer up to three different terminal programs for
download to its users.
b) If the user is in RIP mode, RIP menus are now shown to the remote
user at all menu locations.
c) Users that are currently in RIP mode may download other RIP terminal
packages. Previously, only users in ANSI, ASCII modes were allowed
to download RIP packages.
d) The messy RIP screens on the local end have been cleaned up. Now,
when the user is viewing the screens in RIP mode at the remote end,
the Sysop will see the normal ANSI screens at the local end.
Several new RIP menus appear in this version. Please delete
RIPDOOR.MNU as it is no longer used.
e) A brief help file is displayed to the user after they successfully
download a file. It tells the user what to do with the files that
they have just downloaded.
f) As noted above, the configuration (.CFG) file has changed again.
Here is a sample:
c:\bbs\gtuser.bbs

C:\BBS\RIPDOOR.LOG
E:\GT\ICONS.ZIP
E:\GT\GTO1900.ZIP
~GT Power 19.00~ -- Coming Soon!
E:\GT\RIPTM154.EXE
~RIPTERM v.1.54~ -- A very nice RIP terminal program.
F\GT\D58\RAMP1B.ZIP
~WinRamp for Windows~ -- A fine Windows-based RIP terminal program.
The details are listed in the RIPDOOR.DOC file.
1.7 08/26/1994
a) Bug fix... Program was not calculating the transfer times properly
at low speeds.
b) Cleaned up the code a bit, and removed any unnecessary items.
1.6 08/01/1994
a) Added a RIP graphics menu when the user is in RIP mode.
1.4 07/20/1994
a) Finally isolated a pesky little bug that was causing the door to
go to into an endless loop. This was due to an error in my code
when a key was not pressed for over 120 seconds. The software
now recycles to the BBS after 60 seconds of no keyboard activity.
1.3 06/24/1994
a) THE CONFIGURATION FILE HAS CHANGED! If you are upgrading from 1.1
to 1.2 or newer, you need to remove lines 8 and 10 from the
configuration file, leaving only 11 lines in the .CFG file. Your
.CFG file should resemble this:
C:\GT\GTUSER.BBS
NetComm BBS
Bill
Watts

E:\GT\RIPTM153.EXE

b) Made some visual changes to the main menu. Specifically, I made
more room for BBS's having extra long names.
c) Added several protocols and changed the look of the download transfer
screen. Now, the callers may use: Xmodem/CRC, Xmodem-1K, Ymodem,
Ymodem-G, Zmodem CRC/32 and Zmodem Moby Turbo (TM).
d) The file transfer screen now includes the size of the file to be
downloaded, the last time the file was updated and the users
available time.
This new screen also shows the estimated download time for each
protocol, based on the connect speed. If the estimated download
time exceeds the users available time, it will tell the user that
he/she needs to seek help from the Sysop. After this notice,
the user is promptly returned to the main menu.
e) The path information to the files for download is no longer
shown. RIPDOOR now displays the actual filename only.
1.1 06/12/1994
a) Added the Ymodem protocol. There are now 3 options: X, Y and Zmodem.
b) Fixed an endless loop bug while in RIP mode.
1.0 06/10/1994
a) First release of RIPDOOR.
