12.03.94 v1.3 (Maybe I should skip this version? <g>)
To keep the size of the ZIP file down, WWIV2GAP and VConvert are
no longer included in DRMROMxx.ZIP. If you need one of the files,
feel free to call DreamNET and snag it/them.
Fixed problem that would load the incorrect CD if you had more
that 26 CDs.
You can now configure whether or not users are allowed to
auto-logoff after downloading. Toggled in the sysop section of
COMPILE.
Each node now has it's own CDINFO.x file created from CDINFO.DAT
based on their security level. This will prevent incorrect CDs from
being loaded.
The 'X' option in archive now works again. :)
The 'R'ead option in archive now works properly.
You now may automatically rescan the CD from within DreamROM by
pressing '~' at the main menu. This will ONLY work if your seclevel
is >= the sysop security level.
Fixed the 'not enough bytes to download' bug. If it still persists,
delete ROM_USER.DAT, SECLEVEL.DAT and ROMPROT.DAT and reinstall the
security levels and protocols.
Changed the way the download time is calculated.
Shortened the download screen a few characters to prevent wrapping.
Added more checking for the INUSE.$ and BUSY.$$$ semaphores. Some
people were experiencing lockups because of these files. (Added
lockout retry messages also).
Took care of a runtime error that would pop up if spawning was
OFF and you ran REQCOPY.
Fixed the non-stop listing while listing files on a CD that had no
descriptions.
Fixed a couple problems that 'could' cause COMPILE to lockup.
Increased the read buffer in COMPILE, thus speeding up the compiling
of DRF files.
Added small message in COMPILE to please hold after the CD is scanned
and the DRF file is being check/adjusted/etc.
Couple small code changes to FIX.
Fixed a couple minor things in the Log writing routines. (Cosmetic)
Updated DREAMROM.DOC.
Changed the stock protocol batchfile to be less confusing. New way
of handling protocols is coming soon!
Other cosmetic fixes here and there.
MANY more additions in mind, but wanted to get v1.3 out! :)
11.20.94 v1.2
Couple changes
Seems that good 'ol DOS's copy didn't want to work on ALL systems,
so it now uses my copy routines to copy the DRF files to the work
directories. Hopefully this will take care of that problem.
The work drive setup is back in. For NOW it is only used in one
place, the batch downloads. When I took it out, DR assumed that
it was installed on drive C: So, in the sysop setup section in
COMPILE, under '2', be sure that the drives reflect your default CD
drive and the drive DR resides on. (ie: E,C)
Put a small note in DREAMROM.DOC about playing audio CDs. (Press
F1 with the audio CD in the first CDRom Drive, F1 again to stop
playing). Forgot to add that note in v1.0 and v1.1 :)
That's it for now.
11.18.94 v1.1
Few problems and changes.
Problems: The [S]earch from the filelisting was screwed up. (Basically,
it wouldn't LET you.) It would ask for parameter [5] then
quit back to the listing. Fixed.
Some people were having problems with the work drive setup.
Since it didn't really pan out to what I had in mind, I've
removed it. It 'may' be back in the future, but right now
it's gone. All work is done on the current drive in the
directory where DreamROM resides.
Changes : Re-wrote part of the search aspect. Mostly a cosmetc thing.
When changing CD volumes, instead of having to [Q]uit or
select a CD on the final section, you can now press [ENTER]
to loop around and restart the list from the first CD.
Added more reg'd/unreg'd notices to a few places. (Mostly on
the non-ansi side)
Added more 'greeting' notices to a few places. (Mostly on
the non-ansi side)
Made the respective changes to DREAMROM.DOC.
Changed the troubleshooting section of DREAMROM.DOC.
Accidentally deleted The Griffon's Lair off the distribution
list. Sorry Robert! :)
11.14.94 v1.0
Initial Release. (Crossing Fingers <g>).
