  12.            menu.  Added a Upgrade Program menu option to the Utilities
  13.            menu to allow users of version 1.00 through 1.02 to upgrade
  14.            their data files to the current version.  (REPLICA.DAT needs
  15.            to be renamed to REPLICAT.DAT, (and so on) to conform to the
  16.            new naming convention.)

  19.            and be more attractive in appearance.

  21.          . Removed an extra (redundant) error message box that was
  22.            displayed when a format process failed.

  49.            creating a diskette image.  This could result in an "out of
  50.            memory" error message after creating a large number of diskette
  51.            images.

  53.          . Converted Replicator to a protected mode application.  Only
  54.            systems with 80286 or higher processors can use Replicator.
  55.            This should reduce the memory related problems on most
  56.            systems.

  60.            company.

  68.            files from version 1.00 and 1.01 to version 1.02.  This is
  69.            necessary because of the date field that was added, as
  70.            described below.

  73.            the disk image file was originally created.  This date is not
  74.            displayed or accessed at this time.  That feature will be
  75.            added to a future version.

  77.          . Disabled the display of "Swapping in..." and "Swapping out..."
  78.            messages from being displayed when the compression and/or
  79.            decompression processes are invoked.

  81.          . Fixed a problem where Replica could not find the image file
  82.            to recreate a diskette after a file had been decompressed.
  83.            This problem only occurred if image files were stored in a
  84.            directory other than the Replica program directory.

  86.          . Added an option to allow the user to delete a file from the
  87.            hard drive when an associated record is deleted from the
  88.            database.  After deleting a database file, a prompt is
  89.            displayed to give the user the opportunity to delete the
  90.            file.

  92.          . Added a system to the Copy Disk To File screen that allows
  93.            Replica to remember the previous settings between disk
  94.            creations.  This is useful when creating a series of disk
  95.            images for a particular program.  This is the default.  In
  96.            order to clear the settings, a "Clear" button was added.
  97.            When selected, this button restores the default values, and
  98.            sets all description fields to empty.
  99.  
  100.          . Integrated the use of up and down arrow keys on all
  101.            dialog screens.  This will allow users to use these keys
  102.            in place of Tab and Shift-Tab.

  104.          . Removed the use of overlays for Replica.  Since error
  105.            messages such as "insufficient memory" continued to
  106.            occur from time to time during the compression process,
  107.            we created a separate file called REPZIP.EXE that contains
  108.            the compression and decompression routines.  This executable
  109.            file is simply called when it is needed.  This reduced the
  110.            size of REPLICA.EXE by about 45K.  When REPZIP.EXE is
  111.            executed, Replica is swapped out to EMS, XMS, or disk, thus
  112.            leaving a large amount of free memory for the compression
  113.            process to occur.  This should virtually eliminate all
  114.            "insufficient memory" error messages from occurring.

  119.          . Added a message box that will be displayed when an image
  120.            has been created, to display the total size of the image
  121.            file and the compressed file (if a compressed file was
  122.            created).  This will give the user an idea of the total
  123.            compression that was achieved on during the compression
  124.            process.

  126.          . Added a "Beep When Done" option to the Settings, Defaults
  127.            screen, and modified the code to beep when a disk image
  128.            has been copied to a file, or when a new disk has been
  129.            created from an image file.

  131.          . Added a "Defaults" screen to allow users to modify the
  132.            default values for the disk drive, drive type, disk image
  133.            path, and compression setting.  When the Copy Disk To File
  134.            and Copy File To Disk screens are displayed, the default
  135.            values are used.

  137.          . Fixed a problem where a compressed (.ZIP) image file would
  138.            not be placed in the same directory as the original (.RIF)
  139.            image file.  Instead, the compressed file would be placed in
  140.            the default Replica sub-directory.  Now, the compressed file
  141.            will reside in the same directory as where the original image
  142.            file was created.

  144.          . Removed commands that allowed users to edit records directly
  145.            from the browser screen.  Now, all maintenance should be
  146.            performed from the Database Maintenance screen.
  147.  
  148.          . Added a new menu option specifically for the purpose of
  149.            database maintenance.  This allows users to view and
  150.            edit existing entries, as well as create new ones.  (Users
  151.            may want to create a new entry if they accidentally delete
  152.            an entry.)

  154.          . Changed the operation of the Search button.  If the user
  155.            does not select a record, but presses Escape instead, the
  156.            browser will no longer put a blank entry in the "File To
  157.            Read" field.  Instead, it will leave the existing entry
  158.            unchanged.

  160.          . Fixed a problem where the columns in the database browser
  161.            screen were not being truncated properly if descriptions or
  162.            paths were longer than the column display width.

  164.          . Added a warning message to alert the user if a file already
  165.            exists before attempting to recreate or overwrite it during
  166.            the Copy Disk To File process.
