  3. I have to preface this by saying that
  4. gambling is probably illegal in your
  5. state and that I do not advocate your
  6. breaking the law.

  8. I also feel compelled to tell you that:

  10. This disk can make you rich!

  12. During his rebellious youth, the
  13. author once accepted a bet. That I
  14. could be dropped into any city in the
  15. country without a dime and never miss
  16. a meal or sleep without a roof over my
  17. head.

  19. Four hours after being let off in
  20. downtown San Francisco, I had 400
  21. bucks in my pocket and called the
  22. other person and asked if he were
  23. ready to concede the bet. I called him
  24. from a rather nice hotel while I was
  25. enjoying room service. He paid me the
  26. six pack of Dos Equis without a
  27. whimper.

  29. Here's how I did it. I panhandled and
  30. asked three people for a quarter. The
  31. last one of them gave it to me. I then
  32. took the quarter and used it to get
  33. into a newspaper machine. I took out
  34. all of the papers and sold them on the
  35. street. Total including tips . . .

  38. Armed with this small fortune I found
  39. a bar with a pretty good afternoon
  40. crowd. I ordered one draft beer for
  41. $1.50 (the bartender left my five
  42. sitting on the bar), made three of the
  43. bets found on this disk and won over
  44. $200.00 in a little less than an hour.

  46. I then went to two more bars and
  47. repeated the process making about
  48. $110.00 at one and over $160.00 at the
  49. other.

  53. As a little bonus, while waiting for
  54. my friend to show up, I went down to
  55. the hotel lobby bar and won another
  56. quick $60.00 with one of the tricks
  57. found in the "Impossible" section of
  58. Disk #2. In each bar I drank for free
  59. after making a little wager with the
  60. bartender. And yes, for those of you
  61. that are wondering, I went back to
  62. that same newspaper machine and left
  63. exactly double what they would have
  64. made from selling those papers.

  68. amusement or occasionally for free
  69. drinks at a bar, just to keep in shape.

  123. look on their faces when you do
  124. exactly what you said you would is
  125. well worth the price of admission! No
  126. gimmicks either, you actually do it!

  130. bets, or pay for the information
  131. myself. I never regretted it since I
  132. would almost always recover my costs
  133. within days, sometimes within minutes.

  135. I once won a bottle of rum from a
  136. friend of mine on one of these little
  137. wagers. The very next day, while
  138. playing golf with some of his office
  139. buddies, he collected over $300.00
  140. using what had cost him a bottle of
  141. rum. He was gracious enough to buy me
  142. another bottle with his winnings.
