Commodore don't even try to promote their machines in this country, never mind expanding their market to it. Sure, with extreme left and right-wing orginisations resorting to violence to try and resolve their problems and trying to condone it by calling it "The armed struggle", the RSA doesn't look like a healthy environment to invest in, but even with all this activity, it's not really as bad as it seems. The media makes it out to be something like a warzone and I have found that even a respectable network like CNN tends to exaggerate somewhat. News coverage like this is probably one reason for Commodore to retort somewhat when it comes to investment. Another reason for this unpopularity of an excellent machine is probably the fact that the SA market was already very much PC dominated when the Amiga first came out and that hardly changed much over the years.
