OCR: Natural Progession Recently i have been having the same discussion with various people around the scene, the topic being the so called death of ANSI because of the advancement of VGA. I of course do not agree with that point of view. Although if you take a quick glance at the situation you might think that it is inevitable, let's look further into both sides of the coin. The VGA format, although it has been around for a long time, has not been used as a viable way to transmit graphics over your standard phone line. Why? Because until the integration of the Www there hasn't been any way to have VGA graphics displayed to a remote viewer. Just a few people in the scene bothered with it, because they enjoyed drawing that particular format. These days, the World Wide Web is the newest thing. Everybody and their mom has a link to the net and is browsing the web, thus VGA "drawers" are in big demand, creating a boom in VGA artists joining up with scene groups. The once shunned and laughed at format is now taking over the art scene. Natural progression.
