- _a_d_d_S_e_r_i_a_l_D_e_v_i_c_e is a privileged command that configures the system to use
- a serial device.
-
- _a_d_d_S_e_r_i_a_l_D_e_v_i_c_e configures a serial port for a terminal if its first
- argument is tttteeeerrrrmmmmiiiinnnnaaaallll, an input device such as a tablet or space ball if
- its first argument is iiiinnnnppppuuuutttt, or midi if its first argument if mmmmiiiiddddiiii.
-
- When a device is configured for a terminal, the line in /_e_t_c/_i_n_i_t_t_a_b for
- the serial port is configured to run _g_e_t_t_y(1M). When a device is
- configured for an input device, a link is made from /_d_e_v/_i_n_p_u_t to the
- serial device for that input device. When a device is configured for
- midi, a link is made from /_d_e_v/_i_n_p_u_t and the _s_t_a_r_t_m_i_d_i command is run.
-
- _a_d_d_S_e_r_i_a_l_D_e_v_i_c_e can not be use to add modems. Use _a_d_d_M_o_d_e_m(1M) to add
