  8. Try 1.99q with:

  10. executor -nosound -oldtimer

  12. and see if that's much faster for you.  The old sound library was
  13. doing continuous DMA, and the timer code was causing thousands of
  14. protected mode/real mode mode switches per second.

  16. The slower performance that's been reported has been relative to
  17. 1.99q12, and turns out to be (at least in one case) because of
  18. different Win95 settings.
