  1. I was reading about the upcoming update for the MacOS known as Copland. 
  2. Apple will apparently, to cope with the growing clone market and 
  3. incompatibility issues, introduce a hardware abstaction layer (HAL), 
  4. making the new operating system ROM independent and disk based.
  5.  
  6. Won't this make development of Executor a lot easier, if Apple can 
  7. deliver on HAL?
  8.  
  9. Could all the effort going into replicating the functionality of the ROMs 
  10. be going to waste, as all that would be needed is to buy Copland and 
  11. install it over the emulated hardware.
