  3. I hate to bug, but I do think that the Executor community would
  4. greatly benefit from a newsgroup dedicated to Executor, even people
  5. who couldn't directly use the newsgroup.
  6.  
  7. There are two days left to vote and I know that many people will put
  8. off doing this because they think that someone else will do it, but I
  9. just saw the status of rec.games.quake.* call for votes and although
  10. the proposed groups passed, it was sufficiently close that I'm pretty
  11. worried about comp.emulators.mac.executor.
  12.  
  13. So please, take the time to read the "How to Vote" section of the Call
  14. For Votes (the complete CFV is still available in news.groups) and
  15. then vote yes.  BTW, the way Usenet group votes are *not* secret
  16. ballots, which means that when the results come out, we at I will be
  17. able to see how people on this list voted.  BUT I personally will
  18. avoid looking at who voted how, because even though I am asking people
  19. to vote for this newsgroup, I will not alter my opinion of anyone
  20. based on how she/he voted.  I'd prefer the process to be a secret
  21. vote, but I understand why the Usenet votes are done the way they are.

  23. Bottom line: I hope people vote for the group, but it's certainly your
  24. choice and not ours.

  29. p.s. I understand that some people had to send their votes a few times
  30. before they ever got an acknowledgement of the vote.  I'm not sure why
  31. that is, but it may be something to watch for.

  46. You can also vote ABSTAIN or CANCEL.  These votes are not counted in the
  47. results, and CANCEL removes your name from the vote listing in the result.

  50. from the mail message if your mailer is properly configured; if your mail
  51. software does not indicate your real name, you must include the following
  52. statement and add your name (on the same line).
