  2. Cliff, why suggest that? There is a DOS version of gzip and it is a better
  3. compression device then pkzip. You could cover the .gz extension in the FAQ as
  4. to what it is and what you need to undo it, and could even put gzip for DOS and
  5. Unix on the ftp site.....

  7. I think it is about time we got the DOS world up to par with the rest of the
  8. world....grin......Gzip is simply a better standard......and free......

  20. I would recommend *against* ".gz", since the DOS world is apt to be
  21. stymied by such an extension.  ".zip" is probably best.
