  5. recently i posted an offer to print any postscript files generated by 
  6. E/DOS on my linux machine.  basically, i just did lpr file.ps and the 
  7. printer does the rest - nothing special here is my point.

  9. well, i was sent a .ps file from person using Exec/DOS who was unable to 
  10. print the file.

  12. i printed the file in seconds without any problems.
  13.  
  14. here's my setup in case your wondering.

  16.   computer : linux machine connect to printer via network 
  17.   printer  : HP Laserjet 4si
  18.  
  19. additionally, i was able to obtain the exact same printout by using our 
  20. HP Laserjet Utility program on one of our quadras, printing to a 
  21. different HP Laserjet 4si.
  22.  
  23. so, it seems the files produced by E/D are ok, perhaps DOS or the 
  24. specific printers you are using are choking on the files.
