  24. many problems that I
  25. switched back to Win 3.11 to keep operational. haven't 
  26. had the time or disk
  27. space since to give it another go. It is unfortunate 
  28. that support
  29. compression was not available at release time. I don't doubt 
  30. that OS/2 is a
  31. more stable and "better" OS, but I work with a lot of win3 
  32. apps that I am
  33. not ready to discard (yet). I may still get the OS/2 box out 
  34. and try again.
  35. I think I need a "test" machine to play with first though. I 
  36. wish I didn't
  37. have to sleep so I could spend more time "tinkering"...

  56. this is why Win95 is _NOT_ as good as OS/2.  Running Windows apps under OS/2 
  57. is EASY and they all run independantly (completely preemptive multitasking).  
  58. Under Windows 95 they all run under a dumb old 16-bit kernal and in fact your 
  59. old Windows apps will not preemptively multitask.  Running Win3.11 apps under 
  60. Win95 yields little or no benfit.

  62. OTOH, running Win 3.11 apps under OS/2 
  63. is GREAT!!!  They all multitask together and the crash protection is actually 
  64. quite good.
