  3. We're a bit behind schedule getting the serial numbers and
  4. authentication keys out.  This was due to our problems with
  5. Executor/DOS 1.99j and a new problem we found in Executor/Linux 1.99j.
  6.  
  7. The new problem is that student and educational serial number/key
  8. pairs are not properly acknowledged in 1.99j.  Instead you get a
  9. message stating that the key does not correspond to the platform
  10. you're using and as such it drops you back to demo mode.  We've fixed
  11. this in Executor/Linux 1.99k, but we haven't gotten E/L 1.99k out the
  12. door yet.

  14. We may not have all this straightened out until sometime this weekend.
  15. Once all the code is tested and in place and our database has been
  16. retooled, the new way of doing things should be much nicer.

  18. In addition, we're working on some tools that will allow you to
  19. download many fewer bytes when we release successive revisions.  Right
  20. now you have to pick up copies of files that haven't changed, or
  21. haven't changed much, but in the future you'll be able to pick up some
  22. binary diffs (considerably smaller than the old "transmog" files) from
  23. one experimenatl release to the other.
