- Hi Folks,
-
- As you may know, I've been under the weather this week, as has Vaune,
- our technical support person. I thought Bill Goldman was out due to illness
- as well, but only because I forgot that he's on vacation until the beginning
- of next year.
-
- Anyway, while I've been "resting", I've also put our commercial library (and
- a bunch of other stuff not listed here) through an in-house version of Executor
- that will sometime be 1.99e. All the testing was done under Executor/Linux,
- and there's no guarantee that every version of 1.99e will behave the same
- way when it's released. Still, the following document gives you some idea
- of what commercial apps we'll be testing under Executor as we plow towards
- a release of 2.0.
-
- There is no guarantee that any particular application on this list will work
- when 2.0 comes out, although we'll be keeping this list current and cleaning
- it up and republishing it as we progress.
-
- [NOTE: enough bugs have been fixed since 1.99d was released that you
- will *not* be able to duplicate many of our successes listed below]

-
- While we're still finding and fixing major bugs related to our color
- implementation, we're *not* doing much extensive testing of applications.
- In general, right now we're looking for and fixing as many color related
- (and an occasional filesystem related) bugs. After we have those under
- control, we'll hire some student workers and do more exhaustive testing.
-
- The purpose of this list currently is to give you an idea of what we're
- working on and the general class that various applications fit into. The
- possible classes are:
-
- Green -- thoroughly tested; no bugs that would prevent the vast
- majority of users from using this application.
-
- Yellow -- less well tested or known bugs that prevent some
- functionality from being usable. At a minimum, the
- application must be able to read and display its
- own document types.
-
- Orange -- Will take mouse and keyboard events, but has enough
- major bugs to make the application unusable.
-
- Red -- Will not come up, but is still considered a target for
- a better class by the time 2.0 ships.
-
- Black -- Will not come up no, nor is it expected to when 2.0
- ships (with possible System 7 spoofing exceptions).
-
- Ether -- Application hasn't been tested yet but has already been
- purchased or ordered
-
- This file should only contain listings for "commercial" software.
- Shareware, Demoware and Freeware will be in a separate file.
- The comments after the "--" may contain jargon that only ARDI employees
- understand.
