  3. As you may know, I've been under the weather this week, as has Vaune,
  4. our technical support person.  I thought Bill Goldman was out due to illness
  5. as well, but only because I forgot that he's on vacation until the beginning
  6. of next year.

  8. Anyway, while I've been "resting", I've also put our commercial library (and
  9. a bunch of other stuff not listed here) through an in-house version of Executor
  10. that will sometime be 1.99e.  All the testing was done under Executor/Linux,
  11. and there's no guarantee that every version of 1.99e will behave the same
  12. way when it's released.  Still, the following document gives you some idea
  13. of what commercial apps we'll be testing under Executor as we plow towards
  14. a release of 2.0.

  16. There is no guarantee that any particular application on this list will work
  17. when 2.0 comes out, although we'll be keeping this list current and cleaning
  18. it up and republishing it as we progress.

  21. will *not* be able to duplicate many of our successes listed below]

  26. While we're still finding and fixing major bugs related to our color
  27. implementation, we're *not* doing much extensive testing of applications.
  28. In general, right now we're looking for and fixing as many color related
  29. (and an occasional filesystem related) bugs.  After we have those under
  30. control, we'll hire some student workers and do more exhaustive testing.
  31.  
  32. The purpose of this list currently is to give you an idea of what we're
  33. working on and the general class that various applications fit into.  The
  34. possible classes are:
  35.  
  36.     Green -- thoroughly tested; no bugs that would prevent the vast
  37.          majority of users from using this application.
  38.  
  39.     Yellow -- less well tested or known bugs that prevent some
  40.           functionality from being usable.  At a minimum, the
  41.           application must be able to read and display its
  42.           own document types.
  43.  
  44.     Orange -- Will take mouse and keyboard events, but has enough
  45.           major bugs to make the application unusable.
  46.  
  47.     Red -- Will not come up, but is still considered a target for
  48.            a better class by the time 2.0 ships.
  49.  
  50.     Black -- Will not come up no, nor is it expected to when 2.0
  51.          ships (with possible System 7 spoofing exceptions).
  52.  
  53.     Ether -- Application hasn't been tested yet but has already been
  54.          purchased or ordered
  55.  
  56. This file should only contain listings for "commercial" software.
  57. Shareware, Demoware and Freeware will be in a separate file.
  58. The comments after the "--" may contain jargon that only ARDI employees
  59. understand.
