  3. Yes, our Linux prices are going to undercut our DOS prices, which  
  4. already undercut our NEXTSTEP prices.  Here's the scoop:
  5.  
  6. When we finally start taking money for Executor/Linux, the rules will  
  7. be:
  8.  
  9.     no guaranteed support
  10.  
  11.     no printed manuals
  12.  
  13.     delivery via e-mail (eventually via <serial number,
  14.         authorization key> pair)
  15.  
  16.     $25 student price
  17.  
  18.     $50 educational (Universities, Professors, Staff) price
  19.  
  20.     $100 everyone else
  21.  
  22.     No volume discounts
  23.  
  24.     Free updates to the experimental version until 2.0 comes
  25.         out, but you have to pick them up electronically
  26.  
  27.     The prices above are for while Executor 1.99<x> is being
  28.         worked on.  Once 2.0 is a shipping product, we'll
  29.         reappraise it's price.

  31. When that happens, we'll also be lowering our NEXTSTEP prices and we  
  32. may also adjust our DOS prices.  As it is, we plan on getting  
  33. Executor/DOS 2.0 into our 1.x users hands cheaper than the $59 that  
  34. we originally envisioned, since we've pared back some of the proposed  
  35. 2.0 feature set.

  37. At this time, we do *not* know exactly what we'll do with our  
  38. NEXTSTEP and our DOS pricing.  I'm always interested in suggestions,  
  39. (send them to "suggestions@ardi.com"), but due to our currently high  
  40. volume of e-mail associated with Executor/Linux, we will not  
  41. necesarrily be able to acknowledge your pricing suggestions.
