- Hi Folks,
-
- Yes, our Linux prices are going to undercut our DOS prices, which
- already undercut our NEXTSTEP prices. Here's the scoop:
-
- When we finally start taking money for Executor/Linux, the rules will
- be:
-
- no guaranteed support
-
- no printed manuals
-
- delivery via e-mail (eventually via <serial number,
- authorization key> pair)
-
- $25 student price
-
- $50 educational (Universities, Professors, Staff) price
-
- $100 everyone else
-
- No volume discounts
-
- Free updates to the experimental version until 2.0 comes
- out, but you have to pick them up electronically
-
- The prices above are for while Executor 1.99<x> is being
- worked on. Once 2.0 is a shipping product, we'll
- reappraise it's price.
-
- When that happens, we'll also be lowering our NEXTSTEP prices and we
- may also adjust our DOS prices. As it is, we plan on getting
- Executor/DOS 2.0 into our 1.x users hands cheaper than the $59 that
- we originally envisioned, since we've pared back some of the proposed
- 2.0 feature set.
-
- At this time, we do *not* know exactly what we'll do with our
- NEXTSTEP and our DOS pricing. I'm always interested in suggestions,
- (send them to "suggestions@ardi.com"), but due to our currently high
- volume of e-mail associated with Executor/Linux, we will not
- necesarrily be able to acknowledge your pricing suggestions.
-
- Thank you for your interest.
