- As another new user of the Linux version of Executor (1.99d) I have couple
- of questions. I noticed that this version could run Word, and I would like
- to be able to let my wife run this under Linux instead of windows (I have to
- keep rebooting to let her do her stuff). What version of Word runs, how
- would I install it. If I can get this to work, I will be even more excited
- about this product and will get the check off as soon as it starts selling.
- Also, I get a segmentation fault sometimes when running this after I have
- had X up an running for a while. It runs fine if I start it up after X
- comes up (and my xterms come up), basically as the first application. Is this
- somehow related to it being a demo? My setup is a Micron P5-90 running Linux
- from the Slackware distribution (I think it is 2.1 or something like that.
- It was the October 94 release and right off hand I am not sure of the kernel
- version, but 1.99c did run).
-
- What is (will be) the difference from the demo version and the commercial
- version? When will ARDI officially be selling the Linux version?
-
- I am curious to know what other linux users have done with this emulator,
- ie, what types of applications you run with it. Have you found any that
- are especially good (good games, utilities etc), that are publically available?
- As it may be apparent, I am not very familiar with the Mac world, but this
- product opens up some very interesting possibilities. Where is the best
- source (read that as anonymous ftp sites) for apps that will run with the
- emulator?
-
- Thanks,
- Gregg Jensen
