-
- I've played Swoop several times under Executor.
-
- Executor tries to use 640x480@256, but sometimes Executor/DOS thinks
- 640x480@256 is not available so it selects a different video mode.
- For example, if you don't have a VESA-compatible video driver, you'll
- only be able to get 640x480@16 (plain VGA). One way to tell if this
- is happening is to bring up the alt-shift-5 preferences panel and see
- if 256 colors is selected (or at least available). If 256 colors is
- dimmed out, you're almost certainly stuck in "plain vga" mode.
- "executor -info" will also print out some information about the video
- driver it detects.
-
- On some systems, an Executor 2.0 beta 1 bug causes Executor to use no
- video modes larger than 640x400. This has been fixed at ARDI but the
- fix is not yet public. I've only seen this happen on systems using
- SciTech Display Doctor 5.2, but the bug could (in theory) cause this
- to happen even without SDD 5.2.
-
- I hope this helps.
