  25. Yes, it fits many commonly accepted definitions for an "operating system",
  26. but it may fall short in others.  It actually depends rather a lot on the
  27. working definition of "operating system" one is using, and in the past
  28. I've seen well-presented arguments on *both* sides of the issue.

  30. IMhO, the precise nature of the environment isn't really important, and 
  31. arguments of this sort are little more than an excercise in semantics.
