Hello, I'm interested in switching from the Mac to another machine, either Unix-based or NT. My only real problem is one program--Symantec's MORE. I have many megabytes of data stored in MORE format, and as far as I know there's no compatible program to import the data into. So I want to either run MORE under NT or a Unix system. Will Executor fill the bill for me? Has it been tested with MORE? Does it run under NT? Linux? FreeBSD? Thanks, Gary Robinson President First Software, Inc. Executor runs well under Linux, but does not yet run under NT. You can download a free demo of Executor from http://www.ardi.com and give it a try. -Mat From owner-paper Wed Jan 3 11:39:14 1996 Return-Path: <owner-paper> Received: by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXY5f-0007qEa; Wed, 3 Jan 96 11:39 MST Sender: owner-paper Received: from osceola.gate.net by ftp.ardi.com with smtp (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tXY4k-0007qDC; Wed, 3 Jan 96 11:38 MST Received: from hopi.gate.net (salernof@hopi.gate.net [199.227.0.13]) by osceola.gate.net (8.6.12/8.6.9) with ESMTP id NAA09094; Wed, 3 Jan 1996 13:28:13 -0500 Received: (from salernof@localhost) by hopi.gate.net (8.6.9/8.6.9) id NAA33338; Wed, 3 Jan 1996 13:23:08 -0500 Date: Wed, 3 Jan 1996 13:23:08 -0500 (EST) From: Fred Salerno <salernof@gate.net> To: Doug Wing <71341.375@Compuserve.com> cc: executor@ardi.com Subject: Re: mac/iso hybrid CDs In-Reply-To: <960103044731_71341.375_FHJ84-1@CompuServe.COM> Message-ID: <Pine.A32.3.91.960103132207.43690A-100000@hopi.gate.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-paper@ardi.com Precedence: bulk Why cant you use the thing in OS/2 to make an image of a boot disk, then run it in a window. I have done it once. Make a DOS 6 boot disk with the CD-rom driver and MSCDEX.EXE and then make the disk image of it for OS/2. I cant recall how it was done... Here is my bug list for 1.99q that i'm still waiting to be fixed: McDraw II v1.1 Still doesn't print right. If I tell McDraw to save to a PICT file then try to load it into another program I get mixed the following: (If you want any of these tell me and i'll tell you where to get them since they are all freeware, shareware, and public domain.) Graphic Converter 2.2 When I open the PICT file executor gives me a box that says: Executor: Fatal Error qPict2.c:55; in 'C_GETPICTINFO' unimplemented Graphic Manipulator (version unknown) When I open the pict file executor gives me a box that says: Executor: Fatal Error main.c:1060; in 'unhandled trap' at pc 0x2EC070 illegal instruction Clip2Gif 0.6 At program start executor gives me a box that says: This program appears to be using Apple Events in a way that is not currently supported under Executor you may try to continue but in all liklihood Executor will soon crash because of this incompatibility. Options: Continue - Crash to Dos Restart - Executor recovers back to the browser.
