I was able to view a 256 grey-scale jpg but since executor doesn't support more than 256 colors (as far as I know) I was unable to view any color photos. It may not be the greatest viewer but its free and it runs without a problem on exec199p. I'm a bit behind in my e-mail. I should have sent e-mail acknowledging the problem as soon as the first report came in, but I was hoping to have a fix that I could mention. No fix yet though. I suspect I know what's going on. I'll send another message to this list when I have more information. Sorry about that. - --Cliff ------------------------------ From: ctm@ardi.com (Clifford T. I installed the bleeding edge 1.99p2. Whenever I tried to access my Dos drives, I would have to wait about 5 minutes for it to scan the drive and create a window. Later, when I dropped my modem connection, (which had been running a PPP connection for me) Executor accessed the drives fairly quickly. I'm trying to fix that and fix a potentially related bug in PhotoShop3 (where PS3 dies the second time you try to open a file) and look into the DOS slow drive opening problem. When I have a handle on those three (hopefully this weekend) we'll release 1.99p3. We've already fixed a few bugs that affect PhotoShop 3 (you can open one file and do things with it), Realmz (it's marginally playable now), Quicken 4 (usable, although hard to get since Quicken 5 is on sale now and Quicken 6 will be out soon), FileMaker Pro (usable again). I would guess that we'll get the Ultima III bugs fixed and that Swoop also will be running by the time 1.99p3. - --Cliff ctm@ardi.com ------------------------------ From: Joe Drasin <drasin@wam.umd.edu> Date: Fri, 13 Oct 1995 17:49:42 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Marathon A friend is wondering if the Mac game Marathon will run. First of all, I just want to say that I'm one of those lurkers who keeps up with Exec. and all it's releases, and this list...you guys are doing tremendously well, and it seems like after all this time, success will be just around the corner... Secondly, I'd like to hand it to you for doing what I thought was the impossible...Today I loaded up Executor and ran a demo copy of SoftPC, which worked (although quite buggy)...I just thought that to be pretty ironic... Also, a LOT more of my games and programs work from just the differences in the past few upgrades....thanks so much! lookin forward for 2.0! later - -ocean ------------------------------ End of executor-digest V1 #298 ****************************** To subscribe to executor-digest, send the command: subscribe executor-digest in the body of a message to "Majordomo@NACM.COM".
