  38. Hmm.  This is just a guess, but could it be that you need /dev/floppy to be
  39. a symbolic link to /dev/fd1 instead of /dev/fd0?  (Somebody please correct
  40. me if I'm wrong.)  Perhaps ARDI can tell us what executor probes for floppies
  41. by default...  (/dev/floppy? /dev/fd0?  /ddev/fd0H1440? ech. Linux does get
  42. a bit messy sometimes! :-)

  45. As a side note...  Would it be possible to make the floppy access a little
  46. smarter when it comes to mounting/unmounting disks and for formating?  Either
  47. this was broken a while back, or I couldn't get things to work right.  It 
  48. would have been helpful if you put in a non-macintosh disk and hit "probe for
  49. floppy", that you get a dialog box that says "NON-MACINTOSH disk!" or 
  50. something.  (It would really be a plus if it then asks "format disk?" and 
  51. has options for different format types!)  Additionally, I seem to 
  52. remember that using "format floppy" was a bit odd--perhaps I had a bad 
  53. sector on my disk, or perhaps it was broken under the version I tried it 
  54. on...  But could a format be verified some way?  Again, a nice dialog box 
  55. would be great!

  57. I know ARDI has been trying to avoid the "look&feel" lawsuits that Apple 
  58. seems to like so much, but I really to want a better way to delete files, 
  59. and a more direct way to see a mounted floppy.  Could the top title bar 
  60. possible make a cute little ICON of a floppy disk whenever there is one 
  61. mounted?  (As opposed to the "hot band" idea, where if you are in the 
  62. "programs" part, you can't see the "drives" part...)

  64. Could we possible hear an update on what ARDI is thinking for 2.0 GUI 
  65. improvements?  What happened to the hiring of a graphic artist to make 
  66. icons, etc...?  I'd like to be able to give you all feedback on these 
  67. items since I think its really important to ARDI's success!!!
