  17. I just put "dos199o3.zip" and "linux199o3.tar.gz" in /pub/BleedingEdge
  18. on ftp.ardi.com.  The README in that directory warns that these
  19. binaries haven't yet been tested on top of virgin 1.99o installs, so I
  20. wouldn't recommend picking them up unless you are a real hardcore
  21. Executor fan.

  23. I'm still about a week behind in my e-mail, but I wanted to get
  24. something out that would allow people to play with NIH Image 1.58
  25. (including use of Plug-Ins), since there has been a lot of NIH Image
  26. interest of late.  Right now you need to specify "-system 7" on the
  27. command line to run NIH Image 1.58, and you can't yet put that in a
  28. configuration file (that will change soon).

  30. Tomorrow, I'll verify that these binaries do indeed work on top of
  31. virgin installations, and if so I'll get them mirrored to
  32. vorlon.mit.edu and ftp.cs.unm.edu.

  34. BTW, we're just starting to run WWW here at ARDI and hope to have
  35. *official* ARDI WWW pages in the next few weeks.

  37. Our list of "must do for 2.0" items still is not ready for public
  38. scrutiny, but the Ambrosia games "Apeiron" and "Cyclone" fall in the
  39. category of "look like they won't require much work, so will be
  40. supported for 2.0".  (The apeiron installer works under 1.99o3).

  42. BTW, 1.99o2 wasn't named 1.99o2 and wasn't available to the public.
