  12.     I was playing with a freeware Infocom-game interpreter last night 
  13. (it ran fine) on 1.99m, but realized that it couldn't open files it 
  14. didn't recognize.  I used Resourcer on the executable to get an idea of 
  15. what files it liked, then got info on the appropriate files and changed 
  16. the creator/type (I think it's one of the best features of Executor that 
  17. this information is so easy to change).  But this sparked an idea...

  19.     Would it be possible to give the browser/shell a table which 
  20. correlates 3-character DOS file extensions with 4-character, 
  21. case-sensitive Mac creator/types?  If, for instance, Executor knew that 
  22. the .doc files on my drives were MS Word files, it could display the 
  23. right icons and open them by double-clicking.  As it is, those files open 
  24. correctly if I manually change the type/creator, but it seems as though 
  25. this could be done automatically to add some functionality and 
  26. mac-like-ness (double-clickability and correct icon display).  Thoughts?
