and if you have Executor/DOS, you should remove the file:
\EXECUTOR\CONFIGUR\426E4871.ECF
since those files corresponds to BinHex 5.0 and have the nasty
side-effect of turning off our "New line to Carraige Return" mapping
heuristic, which in turn causes BinHex to hang.
We didn't notice the problem over here because we don't use the stock
configuration files. We have a separate configuration directory that
we use since we do all sorts of goofy things over here that you can't
(and don't want to) do.
Even more embarrassingly, the trouble people have had with printing
under Executor/Linux is partially due to us having a different System
Folder than we give you. Needless to say, we'll have to be more
careful with exactly what configurations we test before we release new
experimental versions.
These problems are fixed in 1.99l, which we now hope to have out on
Wednesday. Although almost all the code is in place for 1.99l, we've
found and fixed serious bugs today and so we need another day to do
some little tweaks (like that .ecf fix) and another day beyond that to
do testing (which means that the soonest you can expect 1.99l is
Wednesday evening).
BTW, tomorrow, the phone people should be finished putting in the line
that we'll be using to drive ftp.ardi.com.

Hi Folks,
If you're using Executor/DOS, you SHOULD NOT remove the .ecf file that
I told you to remove in our last message. You should only do the
removal if you're running Executor/Linux.
Time to get some sleep.

If the directory structure of /usr/local/lib/executor does not change
between releases for Linux or NeXT, or the *.hfv files for DOS. Would it make
sense to put these into a separate file for download and then release just
the binaries into a separate file for each release.
This would reduce download time for users with slow modems etc.
Just a thought !
Alan Hourihane.
P.S. Can I register via Credit Card !
