.hqx files are ASCII, not binary. Perhaps this is your problem.

Just bought a copy of executor/DOS, it's a great product, but I have a
question. Is there a plan to offer sound support? Most Windows based
computers have sound cards and sould be capable of emulating Mac sound.

Hi Stuart,
Sorry for the delay. '95 has started off a little rough for me personally,
although ARDI looks to be in rather good shape.
We don't work on ResEdit because that's Apple's code and we go out of our
way to avoid disassembly of Apple's code so that they can't claim that we
copied parts of Executor (our Resource Manager, for instance) from them.
We do our Resource editting on a Mac. We haven't ever purchased a copy
of Resorcer, so I can't guarantee that the non-demo version would work
under Executor.
We'll be making another pass through all our bug reports and the results
of our testing and fixing any filesystem/resource-writing related bugs
before 2.0 ships. That won't guarantee that there'll be a program that
you'll be able to use under Executor, but it's the best we'll be able to
do before 2.0 ships. Don't worry, even after 2.0 ships, we'll still release
better experimental versions, in fact, with the added revenue from 2.0,
we hope to be able to improve even more quickly.

Is there a way to emulate Macintosh sound? Is there a way to support
Sound Blasters and compatibles and support Windows 3.1 MCI Wave support?
There is a way to convert Macintosh .Snd (Sound) files to Windows 3.1
Wave format.

Hi folks,
If you like being on the ARDI cutting edge, then you can pick up
ftp.cs.unm.edu:/pub/ardi/Go/go.bin (remember to use BINARY mode to
do all your transfers), a BINHEXed copy of "Go", our file browser.
Right now there are a few bugs in Executor's filesystem code that
make Go not work properly under Executor. So we're logging and
fixing the bugs and when all the major ones are worked out, we'll
then integrate the browser (it will be named something other than
Go) into an experimental release, and eventually it will be part
of the Executor 2.0 distribution.
The point of allowing you to look at it now is so that if people
want to correspond with Bill Goldman, the browser's author, about
various aspects of the browser's functionality, they can do so by
sending e-mail to "browser-bugs@ardi.com". For most people, the
thing to do is to wait until the browser is a little more stable,
but we know that some of our fans are pretty enthusiastic, so it's
for those that are that we make this application available (the
idea is that a little heat from these fans will make sure that we
make steady progress on the browser).
