  1. This is the complete NeXTanswers file tree, available for 
  2. anonymous ftp in three forms:
  3.  
  4. * The original documents, stored in plain text, Rich Text, PostScript, 
  5.   and other formats, are available in pub/NeXTanswers/Files
  6.  
  7. * ASCII text versions of the documents are in pub/NeXTanswers/AsciiFiles.
  8.  
  9. * Compressed versions of the documents are in pub/NeXTanswers/CompressedFiles.  
  10.  
  11.   The compressed files are also available by NeXTanswers index number 
  12.   in pub/NeXTanswers/ByNumber.  For example, document 1119_NeXTanswers_News.txt
  13.   is in pub/NeXTanswers/ByNumber as 1119.compressed.

  15.   (The compression is the same used by the NEXTSTEP Workspace Manager.  
  16.   The compressed versions are created with the command 
  17.   "gnutar cZf file.compressed file".  To decompress a document, use 
  18.   Workspace Manager or the command "gnutar xZvf file.compressed".  
  19.   gnutar comes with NEXTSTEP and is available from prep.ai.mit.edu.)

  22. If you're running NEXTSTEP, ftp the compressed files and double-click 
  23. on them in the Workspace.  If you don't have access to NEXTSTEP, the 
  24. AsciiDocuments are probably your best bet.

  26. pub/NeXTanswers contains the text file "1001_Master_Index".  This file
  27. is a guide to all the directories.
