The Preview application lets you view PostScript and TIFF images. Preview starts up when you click the Preview button in the standard Print panel or Fax panel, and when you double-click a file with a ".ps", ".eps" or ".tiff" extension.\
Page-oriented PostScript images, such as the image of a document created in Edit. This type of image is displayed when you click Preview in the Print panel or open any ".ps" file.\
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) images, which usually contain individual illustrations rather than multiple-page documents. EPS images are stored as ".eps" files.\
Note: With the Workspace Manager's Inspector command, you can arrange for ".ps", ".eps" or ".tiff" files to open in a different application.\
If you open an PostScript file that doesn't conform to the proper PostScript format (as may happen with files copied from other systems), you'll see an error message that points out the problem and says that if you open the file, you may be restricted in certain actions. You'll only be able to page forward through the image sequentially (for example, with Page Forward in the Display menu). Some partially conforming files may open without displaying an error message initially, but later may cause problems as you work with them; if this happens, try opening the file again with the Open command's Use Simple Mode option.\
