USAGE NOTES for eMedia Guitar Method:
In the vast majority of cases you should just be able to go ahead
and use eMedia Guitar Method without any problems.
However, certain abnormal system configurations can cause difficulties.
Here are some of those rare problems and workarounds for them.
Also, further technical support is available on the eMedia
Internet website: "http://www.emedia.org"
PROBLEM: Unable to run videos or play audio with Windows 95
(e.g. CVID decompressor missing error)
SOLUTION: From the Control Panel, select "Add/Remove Programs",
then select "Windows Setup", and there scroll down & select "Multimedia".
Check the Audio Compression & Video Compression options & click OK.
PROBLEM: Not getting any audio from eMedia Guitar Method.
SOLUTION: Check volume setting on the eMedia Guitar Method "Options"
menu. Also, if using Win 95 check the system audio volume setting from
"Multimedia Properties" in the Control Panel.
PROBLEM: Automatic Tuner and/or Recording is not working
SOLUTION: Check microphone input level (Usually via a Mixer or Volume
Control application sometimes found in the "Audio" Group)
& raise microphone input level to maximum.
PROBLEM: Metronome Tick can't be heard even though other audio works.
SOLUTION: Rename the TICK.WAV file in the installation directory
(usually "\EGUITAR") to TICK.OLD and then the metronome will use the
default Windows sound for the tick (a few rare sound cards have
trouble with the TICK.WAV because it's such a short sound).
PROBLEM: "Print" Command doesn't print out on the printer or the
printout is too small for your needs.
SOLUTION: Try using the "Alt-Printscreen" keyboard combination with
the screen you want printed showing. This copies the screen image into
the Windows clipboard. Then you can go into a word processor such as
Microsoft Write or Word and use the "Paste" Command, and then print
it out from the word processor.
