Introduction
------------
The following outlines various last minute changes and notes that may help you optimally run the game. Please take a moment to glance through the following sections, as there is a chance that problems that you may encounter with our game have solutions detailed below.
To launch the game simply select the PGA TOUR 96 for Windows 95 DEMO from the Electronic Arts program group.
To Play
--------
When you get to the course, left-click and drag the mouse anywhere on the screen to aim your shot.
Once your aimed up, click the SWING button to the lower right of your screen to start your backswing. Click the SWING button again at the top of the Power Meter to set the power of your swing. Click the SWING button a third and final time to determine the accuracy of your shot.
When you feel you've had enough golf action for the day, click the SETTINGS button and select END GAME from the list of buttons.
To Un-Install
-------------
To un-install The PGA TOUR 96 Demo from your hard drive, simply double click the Add/Remove Programs icon in your Control Panel folder. Select the PGA TOUR 96 DEMO(x) from the window ('x' represents a letter a-f that in turn represents which demo you have) and click the Add/Remove button. Windows 95 will then remove the demo from your hard drive.
NOTE: It may be necessary to go into your C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\ folder to manually delete the remainder of the PGA TOUR 96 DEMO files and folders. These files and folders were left behind because they were created after the DEMO was installed. The Windows 95 uninstaller doesn't know to remove those files because they weren't originally registered with Windows 95 upon install of the PGA TOUR 96 DEMO.

D. DirectX 2 Notes
PGA TOUR 96 for Windows 95 requires DirectX 2 hardware compatibility in order to run properly. Stuttering sound, distorted video, or other hardware problems may be due to DirectX incompatibility. If you are unsure whether or not your hardware is DirectX certified, run the DXSETUP program that is included with the game.
To Run DXSETUP:
1. Click on the START button on the Windows 95 Desktop, and choose RUN.
2. In the OPEN: dialog box type: D:\redist\directx\dxsetup, and click on OK (if your CD drive is not the D: drive, use the appropriate drive letter).
OR:
1. Double-click on MY COMPUTER
2. Right-click once on the CD drive icon and choose OPEN
3. Double-click on the Redist folder.
4. Double-click on the Directx folder.
5. Double-click on Dxsetup
DXSETUP will list all of your video, audio and network drivers. Drivers marked "CERTIFIED" are DirectX compatible; drivers that say "NO HARDWARE SUPPORT" or say nothing at all, are not DirectX compatible and may cause problems when running the game. You can attempt to install DirectX by clicking on "Reinstall DirectX." If your drivers still do not certify, please contact your hardware manufacturer to obtain Windows 95 DirectX compatible drivers for that device.

Trouble Shooting
----------------
A. Video Problems
PGA TOUR 96 for Windows 95 requires a SVGA video card capable of 640x480 with 256 colors (512K or more video RAM), supported by DirectX 2.
- Make sure you have installed the DirectX 2 drivers included with the game. (Before installing DirectX, read the DirectX Installation Notes in the Reference Card).
NOTE: It is known that some cards that use the S3 chipset can cause some graphic problems while you are in the game. These problems include:
1) The mouse pointer degrades to a blue rectangle.
2) Thick blue lines start appearing at the top of the screen.
3) Black squares can appear wherever you drag the mouse pointer.
If you are experiencing problems like this, and you own a card that has this chipset, there are a couple things you can try:
1) Changing the hardware acceleration (Control Panel ---> System ---> Performance Tab ---> Graphics) to "Basic accelerator functions" (the second setting from the left) may fix the mouse cursor problem on some S3 chipset video cards.
2) Contact the manufacturer of your video card to see if they have a fix for these problems in their latest driver.
B. Memory Problems
PGA TOUR 96 requires 8MB RAM to run (16MB recommended).
You should have at least 20MB of free disk space to run the game.
C. Sound Problems
It is recommended that you have a sound card that has DirectX 2 support. Audio quality may suffer otherwise.
SOUND CARDS WITH DirectX 2 SUPPORT
If you are experiencing no sound:
1) Make sure that you have installed the DirectX 2 driver for the sound card.
2) Make sure it is configured correctly.
3) Make sure your speakers or headphones are plugged into the appropriate jack and the volume control is turned up.
4) Make sure you have the most up-to-date Windows 95 drivers from your sound card's manufacturer.
SOUND CARDS WITHOUT DirectX 2 SUPPORT
If you are experiencing no sound:
1) Make sure you have installed the Windows 95 driver for the sound card.
2) Make sure it is configured correctly.
3) Make sure your speakers or headphones are plugged into the appropriate
jack and the volume control is turned up.
NOTE: For cards without DirectX 2 support, PGA TOUR 96 for Windows 95 installs a file called EASOUND.INI in your Windows folder. If you are experiencing sound difficulties, open this file and edit the latency value. Increasing this number will improve any crackling or audio breakup, but may cause a sound delay. Decreasing this value may improve the delay, but it may cause the audio to skip or break up.
