System DirectX Control Panel A DirectX utility you can't boot without! Remember Alex St. John's column about broken DirectX drivers? Well, DirectX 5 ships with a little control panel utility that lets you know who's at fault when your games crash and what features and video modes your hardware support. The utility even allows you to uninstall the new DirectX drivers if you've determined they've screwed up your system. Just above the DirectX minimal install is a slightly larger version of DirectX that includes this new utility. All hardcore gamers are strongly advised to install this utility along with DirectX 5.0.
