New sound cards will be able to render virtual 3D audio environments where sounds seem to be coming from behind, above or anywhere around the listener, using only two normal pc speakers or headphones. "Gamedemo.wav" is a sample sound clip, optimized for speaker playback, that demonstrates how this 3D audio rendering can take game play to a whole new level of emotional realism. VLSI Technology
