This month we have several bitmap files that can be used as backgrounds in Windows. The files included are:
BUTRFLY.BMP - Monarch butterflies on a yellow background.
LONGHORN.BMP - A western cowboy image.
SNOWMAN.BMP - A screenfull of whimsical little snow guys.
SOUTHWST.BMP - Inspired by Hopi Indian sand paintings.
SUNFLOWR.BMP - This flowery pattern will brighten any day!
To install these files and make them accessible to Windows, simply place them in your Windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS), either using our copy command, or by copying them from DOS or from Windows. Once you have them there, you can access them through the control panel, just like any other wallpaper file.
You can also use them with WinDecor (from On Disk Monthly, issue #82). If you are using WinDecor, once you have placed these in the same directory as your other wallpaper files, make sure you run WinDecor again, so they can be added to WinDecor's list of available wallpaper files as either tiled or centered as appropriate. If you don't have WinDecor, but would like to have it, call our order number (1-800-831-2694) and ask for it by name.
WinDecor is a Windows utility program which allows you to have a different, randomly selected, wallpaper file used as your Windows background each time you start Windows. You can use WinDecor to include or exclude any files, and to set the files to be set as tiled or centered individually. If you purchase it from our catalog you'll get additional images!
