  3. HELLO, PC FANS!
  4. Welcome to another exciting issue of On Disk Monthly. This
  5. issue contains some really exciting programs and other
  6. items. I've copied them all onto my system for regular use,
  7. so I know you will, too! Isn't "Where Am I?" just a fabulous
  8. program?

  10. And how about the addictive fun of Cribbage Companion? Just
  11. between you and me, the computer is a much better cribbage
  12. opponent than, uh, someone I know--who shall remain nameless
  13. in the interest of maintaining a harmonious relationship.

  15. My harmonious spouse loves Auto Tracker and those cool
  16. Windows sounds. And, as soon as September rolls around, I
  17. plan to send my mother a special, personalized birthday
  18. greeting courtesy of "Birthday Card."

  22. FUTURE PLANS
  23. Your letters and Report Cards have told us that you were
  24. quite excited by our recent Windows offerings--bitmapped
  25. graphics (wallpaper) and screen saver modules. We're pleased
  26. to announce that beginning immediately we plan to put at
  27. least one Windows item on every issue. And this month, we've
  28. come up with some outrageously "cool" sounds (.WAV files)
  29. that will allow you to customize Windows to match your
  30. personality...or tickle your "funny bone." If you don't own
  31. Windows, don't worry. There will be plenty of DOS programs
  32. on every issue that we're sure you'll enjoy!

  34. We also plan to develop more programs with VGA graphics.
  35. Why? You've demanded it, and we agree that those of you who
  36. have VGA or SVGA graphics capabilities should be able to
  37. fully enjoy the system you've purchased. So, if you've been
  38. thinking of letting your subscription lapse because you've
  39. been unhappy with ODM's lack of Windows programming and EGA
  40. graphics resolution, DON'T! Pick up that phone and renew
  41. now! We plan to make you a very satisfied subscriber.

  43. TECH SUPPORT NOTES
  44. Tech support says that YOU haven't been complaining! Hey,
  45. we're not complaining about that! One thing that we are
  46. trying to keep tabs on is floppy disk failures. Why? We've
  47. recently installed a brand new disk copying system, and we
  48. want to make sure that it's doing a good job. So, if you
  49. should receive a new disk that won't run at all or that
  50. gives you a "sector not found" type of message, return the
  51. disk. Be sure to jot down your system configuration so we
  52. can determine whether or not the problem is hardware
  53. related. We'll send you a new copy of the issue.

  55. REPORT CARDS
  56. PLEASE take time to fill out and return your Report Card for
  57. each issue. If you don't tell us what you think, we won't
  58. know! Remember, we often make decisions based on your report
  59. cards, as well as your letters and on-disk or telephone
  60. surveys.

  62. ON SUMMER
  63. Go on vacation. Keep cool. Have fun in the sun. Wear plenty
  64. of sun screen. And always remember ODM is fun, fun, fun in
  65. the summertime, too!
