Editor's Corner
Dear fellow PC enthusiasts:
Spring, the season that has caused man to wax poetical for
centuries, has already begun or is just around the corner for
most of us. During spring, and on into summer, a curious
phenomenon generally takes place--you stop using your computers
as much as you did during fall and winter. Why? Is it the "call
of the wild" or a longing to experience "the great outdoors"? Who
knows? But I'll blame it on the most poetic of sports--baseball.
This spring, don't let yourself be lured away from your
computer by the promise of an exciting doubleheader. What, you
ask, can compete? The answer: ON DISK MONTHLY.
This issue of ON DISK MONTHLY (#66) includes five major-league
programs--Computer-Ease, Fitness & You, InfoSys, Word Up and
Rainbows.
Find out how much you already know or still need to learn
about your computer by playing Computer-Ease--the techno-lingo
challenge. Find out why you should be eating right and
exercising, then organize all your favorite healthful recipes
with the on-line cookbook section of Fitness & You. When you want
to know more about your computer--from how much memory is
available to what type of graphics card is installed--InfoSys has
the answers. Word-Up is a vocabulary-building challenge. And
finally, Rainbows is an addictive, brain-buster of a game that
will require your winter-frozen brain cells to thaw a little bit
before you play it. We dare you to win--it's hard but not
impossible.
Next, I urge you to print, fill out and return the reader
survey located in the departments menu right above the Editor's
Corner. We want to learn more about you, including what kind of
computer system you have and what kind of software you like or
dislike. Please use the postage free business reply envelope to
mail your survey today.
Like the sound of a baseball "thwacking" into a cowhide glove,
the "click-clack-click" sound of a keyboard is somehow soothing
and seems to remind us that everything is still OK in the world.
Let ON DISK MONTHLY keep you busy keying....
Until next month,
Ronda Faries
Editorial Director
